Iowa College of Engineering Passes Climate Resolution

Over summer and fall 2019, there was a movement within student, faculty, and staff shared governance bodies at the University of Iowa to pass resolutions calling for renewed leadership at the University of Iowa in climate, energy, and sustainability. Although Univ of Iowa per capita CO2 emissions have dropped by 41% relative to a 2010 baseline, faculty and students are concerned about maintaining aggressive reductions in the future.


As a member of the Engineering Faculty Council shared governance body, I introduced a resolution. Several faculty members and council members helped edit and improve it, and it was passed unanimously at a December college-wide faculty meeting. News article about it here:
