A new book on sustainable agriculture, land use, and energy

Connie Mutel, Iowa's premier nature writer, wrangled over 20 co-authors for an approachable yet rigorous collection of essays on a way forward for climate-smart approach to agriculture that better balances long-term rural health and development, nature, and climate input of producing food. My chapter "A Healthier, More Functional Planet: Global Implications of Climate Change" tries to zoom out and overlay the local with the global challenges. https://uipress.uiowa.edu/books/tending-iowas-land

There will be a reading at Prairie Lights in Iowa City Sunday, Feb 5, 2:00pm. Larry Weber, Jerry Schnoor, Francis Thicke, and Rebecca Kauten will read from selections.
